New car!!! :)

So what has been happening in my life?

Today was the first day at my new job and I love it!! It's so nice and cool in the shed, today we only had a peak temperature of 32.5 degrees and normal humidity so that's so nice, feel human again! In the greenhouses we have a peak temperature of over 45 and very high humidity.

I had the best morning for a long time, instead my work starting at 4.30 it started 9.30. I was sleeping over at Jodies place and waked up 7.30 in this queen size bed and then I had the slowest breakfast ever, so nice to just sit and eat your breakfast in peace, look at the Australian morning show on a 40" big ass flat tv :) And then surf the Internet while drinking a fresh cup of coffee!

I got my self a new car, the final inspection is scheduled tomorrow 8am so I hope I can get an hour free from work so I can go and get my new car.

This time I got the car to a real mechanic that did more or less a full report on the car and only found minor things which you always get with a used car.

It's a Ford Festiva 2000 that's been traveling 170.000 k's. It's a small car and that fits me perfectly. There is two reasons why I'm getting rid of my falcon, the first one is that there is always something breaking, so I spend so much time to repair it. The second is the fuel economy, it's a 4.0 litre engine that drinks like a horse, at the moment it's drinking 1.4 litres per 10 k's.

This new car has a wonderful fuel economy, even better than my parents Ford Focus at home :D But this one is a little bit smaller! Here you see the fuel economy!

Green Credentials
Fuel Urban (l/100km)7.6
Fuel Extra Urban (l/100km)5.6 (highway drving)
Fuel Combined (l/100km)6.3

The seller wanted 3000 dollars for the car, but the tyres was to wear down, so I'm getting four brand new tyres and two other things fixed (small things) and the seller got a bit angry about to have to pay 400 dollars on new tyres, so I agreed to pay 3100 for the car, I still get tyres for 300.

And just for the fun of it, I had to compare the difference between Sweden and Australia (Stockholm and Brisbane). At the moment the summer is peaking and it's and around 30-34 degrees every day! Here you can see the big difference! But I like the heat and the real heat is yet to come, can peak over 40 sometimes!

  1. Sounds nice with new job and new working hours. But if you sleep 4 hours more you probably have to stay at work 4 hours longer as well...
Nice anyway with the new car. Looks good ! We are on winterholiday in Sälen Sweden right now, we have 85 cm of snow. And we love it ! We go alpine skiing, cross country skiing and we go skating on the big lake Siljan.
So yes, there is a smaller difference in climate.
